Wood Fence Installation & Repair in Chattanooga, TN
Whether you need a brand-new wood fence or a fix for the one you have, KV-PRO handles both. New fences are built straight, solid, and set right the first time — and when a leaning post or a run of rotted boards doesn't call for a whole new fence, Konstantine repairs what can be repaired and replaces only what's actually failed.
What's Included
- Layout and line staking for new fences, including a check for buried utilities before any digging starts
- Post holes set to a consistent depth and set in concrete, not just tamped soil
- Pressure-treated pine posts and framing, sized for the fence height and local wind exposure
- Panel or board installation with consistent spacing and a level top line, even across sloped yards
- Capped posts and a top trim cap where the style calls for it, for a finished look and better water shedding
- Gate framing and hardware for any openings, matching the fence style
- On-site inspection for repairs to identify which posts, panels, or boards actually need work
- Replacement of rotted or storm-damaged posts, reset in fresh concrete
- Straightening and re-securing of leaning fence sections
- Board-by-board replacement of split, warped, or rotted panels to match the existing fence
- Gate repair — sagging gates, worn hinges, latches that no longer catch (see the dedicated gate page)
- Fence painting and staining to protect new or weathered wood
- A clean site when the job is done
Types & Options
Privacy Fence
Solid board-on-board or tight-picket panels with no gaps, the standard choice for backyard privacy and noise buffering. Holds up well in Tennessee's humid summers when built with pressure-treated framing and properly capped posts.
Shadowbox Fence
Boards alternate front and back on the rail, so the fence looks nearly solid but lets air move through — good for windy lots and for neighbors who each want a finished face on their own side.
Board-on-Board
Overlapping boards close every gap as the wood moves with humidity and temperature, so the fence stays private and tight over the years instead of opening up as it ages.
Picket Fence
Front-yard style with spaced pickets — classic look, lower material cost, good for defining a yard line without blocking the view.
Post Replacement
When a post rots at the base or shears off in a storm, the section around it usually sags or leans even if the boards themselves are fine. A new post set in concrete fixes the whole run without a full rebuild.
Board & Panel Replacement
Individual boards crack, warp, or rot faster than the rest of the fence, especially on the side that gets more sun and rain. Replacing just those boards keeps the repair cost proportional to the actual damage.
Storm & Wind Damage Repair
Straight-line wind and falling limbs are common causes of sudden fence damage in the Chattanooga area. Konstantine can assess what's structural versus cosmetic and repair accordingly.
Lean & Grade Correction
Fences on sloped yards can shift as soil moves over time. Resetting and re-bracing the affected posts brings the line back straight without replacing sections that are still sound.

What It Costs
Every fence is different, so KV-PRO doesn't quote a per-foot price over the phone. Send your ZIP code, the approximate length, and a few photos, and after a free on-site visit you'll get a clear quote with no hidden charges. Here's what actually drives the price of an installation or a repair:
- Total linear feet of fence and number of corners (new installations)
- Height (taller fences use heavier posts and more material)
- Terrain — sloped or graded yards take more labor to keep the top line straight
- Post depth required for the height and soil
- Number of gates and the hardware used
- Whether an old fence needs to be torn out and hauled away first
- Material grade — standard pressure-treated pine vs. a premium board grade
- For repairs: the number of posts or panels affected, and whether the damage is isolated or spread across the fence line
- For repairs: accessibility of the damaged section, and whether matching material is readily available or needs to be sourced
Our Process
- 1

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to install a new fence?
It depends on the length, terrain, weather, and material availability. Most KV-PRO projects are completed within two weeks, and Konstantine will give you a specific timeline during your free estimate.
Do you set posts in concrete?
Yes. Posts are set in concrete to the depth appropriate for the fence height, not just tamped soil — that's what keeps a fence line straight for years instead of leaning after the first hard rain.
Can you match an existing fence style, or tear out my old fence first?
Both. Konstantine can extend or match an existing fence line, and if the old fence needs to come out first, tear-out and haul-away can be part of the quote.
My fence is leaning but not broken — can it be fixed without replacing everything?
Often, yes. A lean is usually a post problem, not a panel problem. Resetting or replacing the affected post in concrete can straighten the whole section without touching the rest of the fence.
How do I know if my fence needs repair or full replacement?
If less than a third of the posts or boards are damaged and the rest of the fence is structurally sound, repair usually makes sense. If rot or damage is spread across most of the fence, a new installation may actually cost less than patching it piece by piece — Konstantine will tell you honestly which situation you're in.
Can you match the existing wood so the repair doesn't stand out?
Konstantine will match board style and spacing as closely as possible. New wood will look lighter until it weathers in, which is normal for any patch repair.
